In harmony with the remote wilderness of Sápmi, our base for the adventure is Rajamaa, a welcoming adventure hub on Pitkäsaari island in the River Muonio.

In Sweden, but just across the border from Finland, it has been run by the Malmstrom family since 1986 and consists of a main building with a dining room and sauna, plus two-bedroom wooden chalets with shared bathroom facilities.

To make our adventure even more immersive, we also spend one night in a remote forest lodge with dorm-style sleeping (up to four people per room).

Upgrade to a one-bedroom chalet with private bathrooms in Rajamaa – speak to your sales representative for more details.

Worth knowing

Single rooms are limited and subject to availability. These are offered for a supplement, payable upon booking. Single rooms may be allocated in the big chalets (shared facilities) or in a small chalet (private facilities), depending on availability. No single rooms are available at the forest lodge and bathroom facilities here are an outhouse with a long-drop.
